• Demonstrable experience as an Application Support Engineer in Cloud based applications including AWS, Microsoft's .NET Stack and Java.

This role will be responsible for developing enhancements for VIQ’s NetScribe Connect application as well as maintaining the code base and resolving issues. Responsibilities include:

• Developing an excellent understanding of the product,
• Designing, implementing, and testing new product features,
• Refactoring and maintaining the product,
• Providing product support feedback, and resolving bugs,
• Testing software and ensuring that completed work meets quality requirements,
• Working with functional business units to define system requirements,
• Providing support, technical training, and guidance to sales and application support teams,
• Evaluating proposed modifications to existing applications, and
• Researching and assessing new technologies to continually improve the applications and databases, to ensure optimal security and performance.

Educational Requirements:

Job Description: 

A QA engineer for the cloud based platform responsible for testing new software releases and assuring a high-quality product through developing and executing QA methodologies, such as:

• Understanding new requirements and developing new test plans and test cases.
• Executing test cases, recording and analysing the results.
• Opening, verifying, and closing bugs as required.
• Working with engineering and stakeholders to reproduce and describe issues.
• Automating repetitive tests, regression tests, sanity tests.
• Reviewing user interfaces for consistency, functionality, and system testing.
• Being creating in actively stressing systems and components to make them fail before delivery; and
• Devising methods to measure performance, stability, and scalability of the platform.

Educational Requirements:

• Training in software testing methodologies or equivalent experience would be preferred.

Experience and Skill Requirements: 

• 3+ years working in a software development environment in a QA engineer capacity.

• This role functions as a developer on VIQ development team. Candidates should have 5+ years of rapid progression through the development ranks. Candidates should also have a strong understanding of SOLID principles and work experience with the Spring framework.
• This role will: 
• Work on development of highly technical products and major product features.
• Work on VIQ’s aiAssist framework and AI products.
• Working with VIQ’s version of Scrum and Azure DevOps (Agile Development environment) in a CI/CD environment.
